- What was your motivation for taking an MBA?
My motivation for taking a MBA was a desire to enhance my skills in the areas of strategy and finance.
- Why did you choose Edinburgh Business School?
EBS MBA program has a strong focus on developing the students understanding of relevant concepts and illustrates these concepts in well written realistic cases. Furthermore, I saw the flexibility of the program as a great advantage.
- What benefits have you experienced from studying for the MBA?
I have significantly strengthened my understanding of core business areas and their interconnection.
- What have been the greatest challenges when studying for the MBA?
For me the greatest challenge of studying the EBS MBA was preparing for examinations when I was sitting more than one examination in the same week.
- How has the Edinburgh Business School MBA helped your career?
In my job I work globally with strategy and M&A projects. This requires a strong set of skills in strategy, finance and general management, which I believe I got from my MBA.
- What advice can you give MBA students on how to manage the balance between their studies and business/personal life?
Taking a MBA and balancing this with a job and a personal life is always a challenge. I will advise students to take advantage of the flexibility of the program but also to limit the study period to a maximum of 3 years as the courses are interconnected.
- What tips would you give for being a successful MBA student?
I will recommend students to use the different learning approaches which EBS provides. I studied some of the courses on my own I also followed classes at the local learning partner and finally I participated in classes at the EBS campus in Edinburgh. I found it very advantageous to be able to choose the most suitable study form for each course.
