About the MBA programme

Programme structure

Programmes are structured to allow the greatest possible flexibility. Nine courses are required for the MBA, and a further two for the Specialist MBA. Specialist MBAs are available in marketing, human resource management, finance, and strategic planning in order to allow you to take your study into a more advanced area. Intermediate postgraduate awards can be achieved en route to your final MBA degree. You can also take individual courses to suit your own business needs. Edinburgh Business School offers the awards shown in the diagram below.

Duration

Distance Learning

If you choose the self-study route, you may complete the degree at a pace that best suits your needs and circumstances. Most self-study students sit three examinations per year, spread over two exam intakes. This means it would take an average of three years to complete the MBA programme or even less if you have exemptions. You have a maximum of seven years to complete the programme from the time of taking your first exam.

On-campus

The complete programme at our on-campus programme in Copenhagen takes just over two years to complete. Students can choose to join individual courses too.

This MBA has been developed as a result of extensive research into teaching techniques and 15 years of development to produce courses having a quality that recreates the same level of learning as in a classroom environment. It is a modular programme that consists of seven core courses and two elective courses you can study in any order.
